LENORE CARMEN RENFRO
Born and raised in Philadelphia PA. (South Philly) I lived a wonderful childhood. Blessed with four siblings, three sisters and one brother, my mother made it a point that we experience life to the fullest. We were raised in an international environment, and experienced the rich flavor of many cultures. Because of my upbringing diversity and inclusiveness is an important aspect of my life.
In 1981 God blessed me with a beautiful baby boy Christopher, and 10 years later I was given my second blessing with my second son Aaron. I don’t know what my life would be like without my children. In 2001 I was blessed with my first granddaughter, and the blessing of five more, totaling 6 three girls and three boys.
A minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I was called into the ministry to preach and teach the message of God’s saving Grace to a lost and hurting world on January 1998. To go out into the fields to bring hope by showing God’s love and mercy to transforms lives into the image of God.
At an early age of 5 I knew I had a special call to serve the Lord. I held up to the call when I answered the call to preach/teach in the late 90’s. I entered Shaw University in 1999 majoring in Religion and Philosophy, and graduated Magna Cum Laude May of 2002. From there I received my Masters of Divinity, and Master of Theology Cum Laude, from Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury NC, May of 2007.
I received my first appointment in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church June of 2002 and served as a local pastor through 2009 while preparing for the ordination process.
At the end of the 2009 WNCC conference year I relocated back to Phoenix AZ to be with my family. While here in Phoenix, I decided to remain a local pastor.
I worked at Cross in the Desert UMC as Director of Children’s and Family ministry from 2011 to 2015 which have opened up new and challenging opportunities. I also chaired the committee of congregational Care, and helped with teaching the Adult Academy Sunday school class.
The vision God has given me is to build bridges by breaking down barriers and to go out into the field and minister to the church without walls. The ultimate goal of my ministry is to win souls for Jesus.
Love and Peace
